ABOUT KIRU
KIRU (they/them, xe/xem), American Music Artist and Creative Entrepreneur
KIRU (pronounced “ky•roo” and yes, spelled in all capital letters) is an independent music artist, a social artist and a creative entrepreneur based in Brooklyn, New York. They are the founder of KIRUNIVERSE, a Gen Z strategy and design firm established to help change creative entrepreneurship through self-exploration, and the co-founder of RFO Collective, a new platform for fashion and lifestyle media production and holistic networking for creative entrepreneurs run entirely by real friends. Born and raised in Upstate New York, KIRU moved to NYC at the age of 19 to explore new opportunities, learn more about the world around them and the purpose of their living in it. In 2016 they began to study positive psychology, using research in various client projects and even publishing The Book of Positive Affirmations, a practical tool for effective use of positive affirmations in everyday life.
Understanding the nature of this ever-evolving multi-hyphenate becomes a little less complicated when connecting early life activities to the present day.
