Inspired by freelance writer, Nia Simone McLeod, I’ve decided to listen to a bunch of new music in 2022. On January 02, Nia published a new blog post detailing her plans to listen to 100 albums in 2022. You can check out all the info on her resolution for the new year here:

What I love about this initiative is the idea that she has committed herself to expanding her horizons. She was very clear about what she wanted, and how she was going to achieve it — defining the term “new” as new to her instead of new in time, clarifying the different types of projects that meet the criteria (it’s not exclusive to LP projects) and more. She even kept it real about her policy on skipping songs, which I understand in light of her goal and will speak no further on in the context of her personal journey.

I’m a huge fan of the effort people make to connect with different musical projects, styles and sounds, so when I saw this challenge I knew I wanted to participate in some way. So I’m joining in on the fun!!! But I’m not exactly…
