WEEKLY AFFIRMATION 02
Since childhood, I’ve always been familiar with the trappings of financial despair and systemic poverty. From government assistance to income-adjusted rent, dollar store alternatives for all the essentials, and hand-me-downs from various cousins since I was the oldest child in the house. There are a lot of struggles I’ve had to face in my life, and although (considering the fact that I’m still not rich yet) I’m unsure whether the challenges have become any easier than different, I am certainly grateful for the opportunity to better understand the nature of the strength, the resilience, and the sheer willpower that exists in me.
This morning I opened The Book of Positive Affirmations to the first chapter and read what it says:
“I have everything I need.”
This affirmation is quite special because it brings a lot of thoughts and feelings to the forefront of my mind. For instance, I am the type of person who comes from little and demands a lot. When I don’t get what I want, because I believe this affirmation, I always look inward to discover how I can improve my performance and get closer to whatever it is that I desire. The concept that everything I inherently need is already inside me, really challenges my thinking. Sometimes I may produce an attitude of entitlement…
