WEEKLY AFFIRMATION 03
The other day I was laying on my bed, feverishly switching between tabs as I listened to TEDx talks, interviews and sermons, read research reports, blog posts and advice columns, and wrote articles, notes and ideas down in Google Docs. I had Do Not Disturb turned on for all my devices (the norm), and by the time I had realised I was late for my weekly FaceTime with Jasmine, it had already been a half hour into our scheduled call.
When we finally got on the phone (I needed extra time to wrap up some final notes and finish listening to a video I had opened) we didn’t have as much time as we were used to, so we really got to it. Certainly, this was nothing like the 11 hour call with my long-distance friend Mel, but a shorter time to talk couldn’t stop us from catching up on all the things and diving into a really good conversation about friendship and overall support.
During our call we talked about the new year, coronavirus, dating life and work things. The biggest part of our conversation was really special though. We talked about mental health and wellness, and the utility of a strong/dependable network of close friends and family.
