WEEKLY AFFIRMATION 11
Before 2021, I had never interviewed for a job and not received an official offer. This experience was really challenging for me for two reasons; the first being that I was certain of my qualifications for the job, and I know for a fact that I tend to interview quite well. The second reason I struggled to accept this reality was because I was also certain that the industry I was applying to work in was in desperate need of workers, or at least that’s what all the headlines were saying.
There’s a saying that comes to me now as I’m writing… “what is meant for you will always be yours.” I had never before read the article that this quote is apparently from, however, as I googled the phrase just now to discover its source, I came across this post published to ThoughtCatalog.com that really drives home the idea that we should hold fast to our faith and keep moving forward with our heads held high.
I never send in an application, participate in a hiring process or even create and publish content with the idea that it will fail or that I won’t do well. That mindset to me is stupid. And for that reason, I feel I am a bit more curious to learn and understand why certain things do not work out as planned, as opposed to assuming I already know the answer. Still, it stung to…
