The reason I do it is simple. I have goals.

This morning (like most mornings) I sat down at my desk around three thirty to start writing. It’s still a bit of a new routine for me to be getting up at this time, so some days I do better than others, however, I have some new goals in mind, which means I have some new responsibilities to own and some new actions to take.

It’s a little weird to confess that I have been writing almost every day of this month, while almost every one of my new blog posts were published late in recent weeks. but there is a good reason for that! Earlier in this month, my writing was for business — not for blogs. The projects I was working on were pretty high level, and writing for business takes a lot more time and research than writing for any personal or professional blog — so long as that blog isn’t based in something like medicine or law.

Getting up earlier than everyone else is something I am known for, although it has absolutely nothing to do with why I do it. The reason I do it is simple. I have goals. You know what they say. They say “the early bird gets the worm,” and dammit, I want that fucking worm.

Seriously though, it’s important for me to be present in everything I do. I want to show up and put in the work. I want to build bridges of understanding over…
